Assistant Cook
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Assistant Cook to support kitchen operations and assist in preparing high-quality meals. The ideal candidate will work closely with chefs to ensure efficient food preparation, maintain hygiene standards, and deliver consistent taste and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to recipes and standards
Prepare ingredients (washing, cutting, marinating, portioning, etc.)
Support the head chef and kitchen team during service
Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times
Help with storing food items properly and minimizing waste
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Assistant Cook or in a similar kitchen role
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Good teamwork and communication skills
Attention to detail and consistency in food preparation
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
10 hours duty timing
One day weekly off
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Culinary training or certification is an advantage
Experience in restaurants, hotels, or catering services
