Job Title – Lead – Software Engineering
The Purpose of This Role
Software Developer & Design for Workplace investment (WI) technology team will be responsible doing support, Maintenance, small development of applications/ framework using Java, Angular with database oracle. This technology group provides superior development and maintenance support to the overall Fidelity WI organization.
The Value You Deliver
Support and small development on platform dedicated to high scale processing of large amounts of data.
Involved in Application-level support on call during weekdays and weekends.
Working with multiple stakeholders, Flexibility in timing during business and non-Business hours.
Assessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.
Working with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to troubleshoot issues and to tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime.
Collaborating with peers and management on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer’s service experience.
Participating in code review and unit testing and providing support on issues in non-prod or production
Exposure WI domain is a must.
The Skills that are Key to this role
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (software development / computer science preferred) required.
Exposure to Splunk log and datadog analysis.
3+ years of experience in SDLC support and maintenance work
Have experience in working with Kafka Message Bus as a Data interface between multiple Components of an Application
Strong exposure to working with Rest/ SOAP web services, experience in Cloud platform and RDBMS.
Having an understanding on Rules Engine Framework & Integration into Application Framework is preferred.
Hands-on designing and development skills in Java J2EE .
Ability to identify areas of risk or potential problems and take action to mitigate them.
Ability to anticipate roadblocks, diagnose problems and generate effective solutions.
Ability to build communication and rapport with partners, stakeholders.
Ability to take initiative, define vision for betterment of products, and execute at high level of quality.

The Workplace Investing (WI) Platform technology group within Fidelity Investments is tasked to develop and maintain of technology solutions supporting Fidelity’s Defined Contribution (DC) business. The platform serves plan sponsors in the configuration of their DC plans and operates in a mixed-technology environment (Java, Spring, Angular, Oracle) across multiple tiers (web server, app server, DB).
The Expertise we’re looking for
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar subject.
5+ years of experience in information technology.
Financial services experience, preferably in Retirement domain
Certification in relevant technologies is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge and experience:
Operating Systems : Unix/Linux and shell scripting (optional)
Languages : Java 1.7/J2EE
Azure cloud service REST Web Services (mandatory)
UI Technologies : JavaScript, Angular
Application Server : Tomcat/TC Server
Database : Oracle, PL sql exposure is a must
Databases : Good understanding and experience on RDBMS (mandatory)
Methodology : Agile
Others : Prior experience on large scale IT Transformational Projects ( Migration, Modernization) is plus

Shift timings: 11:00 pm – 8:00pm
