strong background in developing Java applications across various platforms such as Solaris, Oracle, and Red Hat Linux, and must have experience working on government projects and with Singapore-based companies. We value individuals who are self-starters, possess strong documentation skills, and have experience with system migrations. Key Responsibilities:  Design, develop, and maintain Java applications that are robust, high- performing, and comply with government standards.  Implement complex software components and systems from technical design specifications, focusing on high availability, scalability, and resilience.  Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and other developers to deliver projects within the contract period.  Develop and manage ActiveMQ messaging systems, including topics, queues, and subscribers.  Manage Java Runtime Environments (JREs) versions 1.6 and 1.8, ensuring security and performance are up to standards.  Work with CORBA architectures in distributed systems, effectively managing ORB, POA, client-server models, and servants.  Conduct thorough documentation of all development phases, ensuring all processes and modifications are well-recorded and accessible.  Serve as a self-starter who can initiate projects, anticipate needs, and resolve issues independently.  Lead and support migration projects, ensuring seamless transition and integration of new systems and technologies. Required Skills and Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.  At least 5 years of professional experience as a Java Developer.  Strong proficiency in operating systems including Solaris, Oracle, and Red Hat Linux.  Extensive experience with Java Runtime Environments (JREs), specifically versions 1.6 and 1.8.  Demonstrated expertise in ActiveMQ, capable of creating and managing topics, queues, and subscribers.  Solid understanding of CORBA components such as ORB, POA, Client, Server, Servant, and ILDJ.  Proven track record of working on government projects and familiarity with the business culture of Singapore-based companies.  Previous experience with software or system migration projects highly desired.  Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under tight deadlines.  Outstanding documentation skills with attention to detail.  Independent and proactive work ethic, able to start and lead projects with minimal supervision. Desired Traits:  Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.  Quick learner with a keen interest in new technologies.  Ability to join the team at short notice and commit to the duration of the contract.
