The Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) is a clinical research institute located on the Anschutz Medical Campus.

*_Job Summary:_*

The CCTSI is looking for a full-time Software Engineer with strong database skills. The Software Engineer will report to the Director of Research Informatics Technology Services. This individual contributor is primarily responsible for translating business requirements and functional specifications into software solutions, for developing, configuring or modifying integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions, and for facilitating the implementation and maintenance of software solutions.

The Software Engineer is responsible for managing institutionally developed software, where support for these applications are found only through, GitHub, list serves and networking. Applications and databases are to be developed with security and privacy considerations; ensuring compliance with Health Information Privacy and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. This position acts as the liaison to the IT departments of multiple institutions, and will direct and facilitate informatics requests and services to the appropriate technology departments and institutions.

* Assist in the development, configuration, or modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments by designing and coding component-based applications using programming languages

* Write technical specifications and documentation

* Assist in building partnerships with IT teams and vendors to ensure written code adheres to company architectural standards, design patterns, and technical specifications

* Participate in all aspects of software development lifecycle phases by applying an understanding of company methodology, policies, standards, and internal and external controls

* Design, develop and support various Clinical System Applications which adhere to HIPAA standards

* Drive maintainable and reusable solutions that are both secure and adhering to acceptable performance benchmarks

* Mentor other teammates on Java design and development
